AI Fundamentals

While I will be exploring the impact of AIs on job search, career communications tools, recruiting, and hiring in detail in my newsletter, I thought those of you who have limited experience with AI might find some basic resources helpful. These articles, videos, and research were created by relevant experts and will hopefully help get you up to speed if that is your goal.

For general and fairly basic information about generative AI, start with these resources which were collected by 1440.com and include both articles and short videos:

AI Newsletters I Recommend

These aren't focused on AI in the job search, yet they're such solid newsletters I thought I should mention them. They're not really suited for those brand new to AI (may be a bit too overwhelming) and some are better suited to those in uber technical roles, but check them out, do.

  • I mentioned Ethan Mollick above and recommended his Substack, One Useful Thing, as a great way to stay on top of key AI developments.
  • There are two AI newsletters I peruse faithfully and the first is The Neuron Daily with its excellent overview of "today in AI" news. And they throw in some great prompts now and then.
  • The other AI newsletter I read regularly is The Rundown AI. Slightly different though similar to The Neuron. Between the two you can easily stay on top of major AI news if you want to.
